  • Method: Broiling is the final step but primary cooking includes stovetop searing and broiling; since broiling uses the oven in a quick cooking method rather than full baking, and the salmon is first cooked on the stovetop then finished under the broiler, the primary cooking method is Stovetop.

Description

This Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon recipe features a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors with a sticky, garlicky glaze. Ready in just 20 minutes, it’s a quick and delicious meal option with a caramelized top and tender interior.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon and Seasoning

  • 4 (6 oz each) salmon filets
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
  • 1/4 tsp blackening seasoning (optional)

Glaze

  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 Tbsp water
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Season the Salmon: Pat the salmon filets dry with paper towels. Season both sides evenly with kosher salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and blackening seasoning if using. Set aside to allow flavors to absorb.
  2. Prepare the Glaze: Adjust the oven rack to the middle position and preheat the broiler. In a large, oven-safe skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium-high heat until the butter is melted. Add minced garlic, water, soy sauce, sriracha, honey, and lemon juice. Cook for about 30 seconds until the sauce is warmed and fragrant.
  3. Cook the Salmon on Stovetop: Place the salmon filets in the skillet skin side down if the skin is on. Cook for 3 minutes, frequently basting the salmon by spooning the sauce over the top to coat evenly and keep salmon moist.
  4. Broil the Salmon: Transfer the skillet to the oven and broil the salmon for 5 to 6 minutes, basting once during broiling with the glaze. Broil until the salmon is caramelized on top and cooked to your preferred doneness.
  5. Serve and Garnish: Remove from the oven carefully. Optionally garnish with minced parsley or fresh herbs before serving. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • This recipe comes together quickly, perfect for a 20-minute dinner.
  • Use the middle rack to broil to avoid burning the sauce, as the glaze contains honey which caramelizes quickly.
  • Adjust sriracha to taste if you prefer less heat.
  • If skin-on salmon is unavailable, cook only the flesh side down for better texture.
  • You can substitute soy sauce with tamari for a gluten-free option.
