Ingredients
Scale
Chicken Wings
- 1 kg chicken wings
- 1 level tbsp aluminium-free baking powder
- ½ tsp table salt
- ½ tsp pepper
Garlic Parmesan Sauce
- 90 g unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 50 g parmesan, finely grated (½ cup)
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- ¼ tsp table salt (optional)
- ¼ tsp pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the Wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps achieve a crispy texture when cooking.
- Coat the Wings: In a large bowl, combine the baking powder, ½ tsp salt, and ½ tsp pepper. Toss the wings thoroughly in this mixture to evenly coat each piece.
- Air Fry the Wings: Preheat the air fryer to 200 degrees Celsius (around 400 degrees Fahrenheit). Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they aren’t overcrowded. Cook for 35 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through to ensure even crisping.
- Make the Garlic Parmesan Sauce: While the wings cook, melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant but not browned, about 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the finely grated parmesan, dried parsley, optional ¼ tsp salt, and ¼ tsp pepper until well combined.
- Toss Wings in Sauce: Once the wings are cooked and crispy, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the warm garlic parmesan sauce over the wings and toss thoroughly to coat each piece evenly.
- Serve: Serve immediately while hot for the best flavor and texture. These wings are great on their own or with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Using aluminium-free baking powder ensures a safe and crispy coating on the wings without any metallic aftertaste.
- If you prefer less salt, omit the optional ¼ tsp salt in the sauce and adjust seasoning after tasting.
- Make sure wings are arranged in a single layer in the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
- For an extra kick, add a pinch of chili flakes or cayenne pepper to the garlic parmesan sauce.
- Leftover wings can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the air fryer.
